I know from personal experience that one shoe doesn't always 'fit all'. Especially, when you have massive feet like I do! :) I think 'wispy' curls/a more relaxed look would be good for hair. When I went to prom I LOVED how the stylist did my hair, it was curled and side swept up. I'll send you pictures! I love the idea of adding the long yellow sash and tying the bow in back! Maybe add a brooch too or those flower types from the new dress you found?? Just throwing out ideas! I love the idea of each girl choosing their own shoe.
