Green Friday: Etsy Seller Lovliday
Written by Sara on March 19, 2010 – 9:10 am -J and I had a difficult time determining what type of guestbook we wanted at our wedding. With the multitude of creative ideas available in the blogosphere, we were often torn between a traditional guestbook scroll, this tree stump idea from Etsy seller The Wedding Perch, and utilizing a vintage typewriter for our guests to type out their well-wishes for us.
However, when we stumbled upon Etsy seller Lovliday and her large tree guestbook, we knew that we finally found our guestbook!
Take a look:

To us, the tree fits so well within our theme of nature-inspired beauty! The concept behind the guestbook is this: we make stamp pads available for our guests, and they press their thumb into the ink and then place it firmly upon the 18×24 canvas print of the tree. Guests then simply sign their name underneath their thumbprint, and they’ve officially signed our guestbook!
We had Jessie over at Lovliday customize the coloring of the tree file for us according to our wedding colors, and it turned out wonderfully! Plus, she offered this custom colorization service at no extra charge.
This tree guestbook is also perfect for the DIY bride on a budget; Jessie offers her unique guestbook both in printed form and as a PDF file, so for a meager charge, you can send the file to your local printer to be printed on 18×24 canvas!
We plan to frame our guestbook after the wedding and hang it on our wall as a constant reminder of our wedding day and all of the people that took part in our special day. Big thanks to Lovliday for providing such a unique and beautiful guestbook!

Showcase Wednesday: The Wedding Perch
Written by Sara on November 11, 2009 – 8:49 am -Hello readers! For our first annual Showcase Wednesday post, I have a real treat for you from Etsy: The Wedding Perch!
I stumbled upon The Wedding Perch when I was looking for a unique and rustic alternative to the typical guest book you sign at weddings. I can’t wait to show you all of the goodies from this Etsy shop, so here come the photos!
Here’s the guestbook I was talking about; according to the seller, “this authentic tree trunk slice is hand burned with the couple’s initials. The initials are surrounded by a hand burned heart and arrow. Your wedding party, immediate family members, or every wedding guest can sign his/her name on this unique wooden piece to create a lasting and decorative memory!”

I know we’ll LOVE to frame this and keep in visible in our home for years to come!
Next up are The Wedding Perch‘s lovely little favor bags. How cute would these be filled with candies made locally or birdseed/petals/lavender to throw in the air post-ceremony?

Last up are these adorable escort cards made of Lotka (or plantable) paper! Lotka paper is handmade in Nepal, and is produced through an environmentally friendly process. Also, half of the paper’s materials are recycled! Plus, as an added bonus to your guests, they can plant the escort cards in their gardens after the wedding for a beautiful floral display of your love and commitment! Now that’s eco-friendly decor.
